About North Star Learning Access

I’m Mytch, a learning specialist, executive function coach, and Orton–Gillingham tutor based in Vancouver, BC, offering online support across Canada. For over 15 years, I’ve supported children, teens, post-secondary students, and adultswho don’t fit the “typical” mould in specialized school and outreach settings.
I’m an Associate Member of the Orton–Gillingham Academy (OGA) and hold a BA from the University of Victoria. My work focuses on dyslexia, ADHD, and executive function challenges across the lifespan. I’m also dyslexic and ADHD myself, which means I take a low-shame, neurodiversity-affirming approach that respects people’s energy, nervous systems, and real lives.
North Star Learning Access exists to help children, teens, and adults build skills, systems, and self-advocacy so they can actually use their strengths—not just “try harder.” My aim is to make learning feel more possible, less punishing, and better supported in real life.
Why “North Star Learning Access”?

A north star is a fixed point that helps you orient and navigate, even when everything around you feels confusing or in motion. For many neurodivergent learners, school and work can feel like constantly trying to find your way without a clear reference point.
North Star Learning Access is about building that stable point together: practical strategies, structures, and supports that help you orient, choose your direction, and move at a pace that works for your brain.
I use the word access intentionally. The goal isn’t to “fix” you or force you into systems that don’t fit. The goal is to increase access to learning, work, relationships, and daily life—so your strengths are visible and usable, not hidden behind barriers.
