Rates, Packages & Policies

Here you’ll find my current rates, packages, and policies. My goal is to be transparent and predictable, so you know what to expect before we start working together.

Rates

All individual sessions are 50 minutes and held online (Pacific time) via secure Zoom. I work with children, teens, post-secondary students, and adults. All rates are in CAD.

Dyslexia Tutoring (Orton-Gillingham) – $115 / 50 minutes

Most students attend a minimum of 2x per week to build the repetition and routine that OG needs to be effective.

Learning Specialist Support: Academic & Executive Function Coaching – $145 / 50 minutes
Parent Consultation & Case Planning – $160 / 50 minutes

Access and Sliding Scale

I know that specialist support is a significant investment. To keep things as accessible as I can while staying sustainable, I post my rates openly, avoid surprise fees, and reserve a very limited number of sliding-scale spots for families who could not otherwise access this kind of support.

If cost is a barrier, you’re welcome to mention this during the free 15-minute fit check so we can see what’s possible and whether a reduced-fee spot is available.

Packages and Invoicing

Most families choose monthly invoicing in advance, based on our agreed schedule (for example, 8 OG sessions per month for 2x weekly).

For families who prefer to plan a longer block of support, 10-session packages are available at approximately 5% off when paid in advance:

10 Orton-Gillingham sessions - $1,095
10 Learning Specialist sessions - $1,375

During enrolment, we can decide together whether monthly invoicing or a 10-session package makes the most sense for your situation.

Policies

Payment

Invoices are issued either monthly in advance or when a 10-session package is arranged.
Payment is due upon receipt of invoice (typically before or at the first session in the invoiced period).
Payment is made by e-transfer to northstarlearningaccess@gmail.com (or by another agreed method).
Receipts are available on request for your records or possible reimbursement.

Cancellation & Rescheduling

I ask for at least 24 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule a session.
Sessions cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice are charged at the full rate, except in sudden illness or emergency.
If I ever need to cancel, I will give as much notice as possible and we’ll reschedule at no cost to you.

Late Arrivals & No-Shows

If you’re late, we’ll use whatever time remains in your scheduled session.
If you do not arrive and I don’t hear from you, the session is considered a no-show and is billed at the full rate.

Diagnosis & Scope of Practice

You do not need a formal diagnosis to work with me.
I do not diagnose or provide therapy, mental health treatment, or medical care.
My work focuses on structured literacy instruction, executive function support, academic coaching, and advocacy.
I’m happy to collaborate with schools and other professionals, within my scope, to help supports feel more coordinated.
